Woman and Man

I, C.E.W., was sent the following in an email on 2-12-02:

A friend of mine sent this to me. I am curious as to what everyone thinks about this. I told her I would conduct a poll on it and let her know. OK… So what do ya’ll think? Let me know. Cathy

An English professor wrote the words, "Woman without her man is nothing," on the blackboard and directed the students to punctuate it correctly.

The men wrote: "Woman, without her man, is nothing!"

The women wrote: " Woman! Without her, man is nothing!"

This was my response (C.E. White)

Woman and man, without GOD, are nothing!

Any other statement only serves to feed our human ego … and there is no "ego" in humility.

Either one, being without the other, is something, but "only" as long as we accept JESUS as our Savior and serve GOD.

Woman has been put here to be man’s help mate but nowhere does GOD ever say she is nothing … nor does her helping man make him something.

First I’d like to thank Cathy for her kind words. Cathy is a Christian woman who, I believe truly attempts to be a humble servant of GOD. Many women would have been offended by what I said for they only want to be exalted.

That is what the rest of this article, lesson, group of words, or, if you prefer, garbage will be about.

The war between the sexes is exactly that "between" the sexes. It does not and will not occur with people who are serving GOD first and foremost … as well as last!

When a woman steps over the boundaries, that GOD has given her to operate within, it is because she wants to be seen "as more" in the eyes of others.

When a man belittles a woman or boasts that men are "more" than women … he is doing the same thing … he wants others to think he is more than what he is.

In reality it’s each individuals vision of themselves that they are trying to improve.

But the thing that is really the saddest of all is typically when a man and a woman are vying for the top banana position it is their spouse they are trying to be "better" than! AND it is their spouse that they want this recognition to come from.

When a man belittles, abuses, knocks down, humiliates, and or destroys his wife’s feelings, or, even her body, in most cases he's trying to get "her" to see that "he" is the bigger and better person! Talk about an oxymoron!

So, it is the same with the wife.

It is pretty sad commentary on a marriage when this is what they do … compete to be the top dog! No matter who it means they have to bark at and or bite!

Women, that are in the public eye and boasts of "I am woman here me roar" just sounds like an insecure, childish temper tantrum throwing teenager! (hold your horses … the men will get theirs in a minute) Women, who are the truly strongest women, never have to speak louder than a whisper for people to listen and or to get them to follow them. Also, these same women, who are great leaders, are first and foremost the absolute best followers on the face of the earth!

Men who push women around and men who let women push them around are exactly the same … they are equally the weakest men on the face of the earth!

GOD …. I’ll say this again so maybe when you read it you will remember it … it's GOD who makes this rule, (NOTE "makes" indicates present tense) GOD has given us all a role to play in life. Men have one and women have a completely different one - BOTH are equally important!

And gentlemen, I want you to know that when GOD describes woman as being our help mate, nowhere, And I mean absolutely nowhere does he use the word "slave"!

Truth is that women have certain family responsibilities that they are better at than man. By the same token men typically can lift what is heavier, fight better, and discipline the children where it takes better.

But I want you to know something, part of woman’s role in being a help mate is helping us testosterone filled men deal with the testosterone…. GOD’s way! Oh we always deal with it … in our own selfish … self glorifying way.

GOD says that a woman is not to usurp authority over man … and she is not to ever do that .. and this means she cannot "teach" a man.

Well let’s clarify a few things here ….

1. The teaching is specifically meant as "teaching a man how to be a man." A woman can’t do that for she is a woman … and not a man. She can’t do this anymore than man can teach a woman how to be a woman!

2. Teaching itself means by direct orders or commands.

3. This is the main point to you men - none of this means that we can’t learn from her! What can we learn from woman you ask? Well tenderness first and foremost …. Patience … turning the other cheek … not necessarily when someone physically strikes you but when they say improper things. Things that can be hurtful or aggravating. Most importantly … if we let her, we can learn from a woman how to love a woman!

That’s right --- we need to learn how to love a woman … not our testosterone driven method of "Gotta find a woman! Gotta get me a woman to sleep with tonite or forever!" That AIN’T love! In fact, ladies, for a man, sex has little or nothing to do with love … at least in the beginning. With a little work men can grow into only wanting to have sex with the woman that they really love. But they won’t grow with you usurping their authority! Make sure you know this … It takes man until he is in his mid to late thirties to "truly" start seeing a woman as more than a sex object first and foremost. AND I’m talking about a man who has been married from his early to late twenties.

Woman is not to Usurp authority over man … PERIOD! No matter how bad of a leader he is… no matter how bad of provider, husband and or father he is …. Woman is not, is not to usurp authority over man.

NOW lets make it real clear … it has nothing to do with the man of the species being better … it has everything to do with "That’s the way GOD wants it!" No if ands or buts! Ladies, if you usurp authority over man, in other words take on any and or all of his responsibilities …. He will never learn! AND you belittle him! AND you have made GOD furious with you!!! Remember part of man’s responsibilities is to teach … to be the leader … to be the disciplinarian … the protector!

It is all of our job to "prepare" for the next life. As our helpmate it is your job, ladies, to help us get ourselves (the men) prepared first and foremost! By you getting us "prepared" we can lead others … we can help others to become prepared… we can lead our children and grandchildren to GOD and a life hereafter!

NOW … ladies … here is the hard part … GOD gives us all a lifetime to get prepared. Some people’s lifetimes are longer than others but still it is a lifetime that HE gives us.

So-o-o-o-o-o? So….. you may have to take a lifetime to help some of us men learn !!!!

There is no reason to "take charge" as long as the man has use of his faculties and he is being faithful to the marriage. Age is not a reason … neither is intelligence or lack thereof … AND neither is sin! Even if you decide to divorce your husband for marital unfaithfulness … you still cannot usurp authority over men.

I want you ladies to realize one thing the more you do as GOD commands the happier you will be! HE made the rules so that they fit the basic character, (character that HE designed) of women and men.

If you follow HIS rules, from a young age, GOD will lead you to the man that, no matter what you need to help him to learn, YOU will be able to deal with it!

Men – here is the scripture that confirms the importance of loving your wife "with respect", not as a slave

I Peter 3:7 - Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

Notice also that they are "heirs … with us" to GOD’s kingdom. Slaves are not heirs to anything … people who have no rights you do not respect nor do you leave them anything of value.

But the importance of all of this is clarified in the last part of the verse "so that nothing will hinder your prayers!"

1. we are to be considerate of our wives
2. we are to treat them with respect
3. they are weaker than us (and they are supposed to be)
4. they are joint heirs
5. if we don’t comply with and understand these first four points ... we will pay for it … our prayers will go un heeded! Or succinctly put …. the answer will be from GOD and it will be "I can’t hear you!"
6. AND ladies it also confirms that you usurping authority is not necessary. GOD will take care of the husband who does not love you as this verse describes. If you interfere with GOD’s handling it, I wonder what happens?

Point number three – women are supposed to be weaker than us …. Why? Well … it is easy to be forced into learning from someone who is bigger and stronger than you … but, to learn from someone who is weaker than you .. to be considerate of the weaker … to respect the weaker … to willingly share your inheritance with the weaker takes great strength AND that is the strength that GOD want us all to have! AND unfortunately, men have to learn the last part of this, if not all of it, and for some reason women seem to know most of it naturally.

So what is woman’s great weakness … being submissive to the point of not usurping authority over man.

How do I know this?

GOD doesn’t waste time telling us to do the things that we are naturally good at or that we already know how to do.

Really?? YES Really! Does HE tell is how to breathe? Does HE tell us how to walk or to run or how to chew our food? Does HE tell women "how" to give birth?

NO, but HE does describe, in some detail, how to "make love" to your wife!

HE tells women that they belong to their husband for as long as their husband is alive.

WAKE UP and smell the coffee !!!!

Women are exactly what we need … just the way they are … they provoke us to think … to work harder to be better … to learn what we don’t want to … if they did everything that was "the male’s perfect way of doing things", they would help us to learn nothing! They would not be a help mate!

Women, men are exactly what you need.

BUT … Ladies and gentlemen … neither of you are good for each other "if" you do not behave as GOD commanded you to!

If you put diesel in a gas engine it will not work!

If you put water in the engine, instead of oil, it will work briefly … very briefly!

If you do not put air in the tires, they will roll barely & only for a short while! You will not get were you are going!

If you rape a woman, because you love her … you don’t love her! (another oxymoron)

If you rape a woman, you may have her sex , but you will not have her love!

If you belittle someone in front of others, you may prove your intelligence but you will loose the respect of everyone who witnesses this belittling!

GOD’s rules of life are simple, yet complex, just because there are so many … BUT .. we must learn them… we must follow them .. we must respect them. For if we don’t they will have no respect for us.

The rules actually have consideration, kindness, love, patience, tenderness, and more built into them … but only for those of us that follow them. On the flip side of following them is nothing but razor blades!

Women are to be submissive and not usurp authority over man – a very important rule!

Men are to love their wives as Christ love the church and respect her and treat her with consideration as the weaker sex….an equally important rule!

Forget the battle of the sexes and realize that it is the perpetual battle of sin with the devil.

FOLLOW the rules … not because of or in spite of man …. but because GOD says to … PERIOD!

You will hear me say this many, many , many times here and in life:

The bottom line: "GOD’s word is not subject to interpretation. It is not negotiable! We will not be able to stand before GOD and say, "But, but, GOD, I thought you meant ….."
