Can We Know the Truth All By Ourselves? 1. How does God communicate to the whole world today as he did in times of old through his prophets or apostles? Does HE speak to people in dreams anymore? Probably. Are they to be recognized as some sort of authoritative prophet? NO. If they speak the truth they will be speaking what's already written in the Bible. The Bible covers this several times Galations 6 Verses 8 and 9 - 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!Revelations: 22 Verses 18 through 21 - 18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. 20He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. 21The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. AmenThese are the last 4 verses in the Bible - GOD ended the Bible with these words of warning. Does HE speak to individuals? Probably. HE may direct them with a subconscious hint or thought. HE may come to them in their dreams. Is this real important - probably not. What is important is what the Bible Says. 2. How can I know which is the true church among all the different sects of today? There are a lot of ways to answer this question - First off - you need to ask another questions - Can you know which is GOD's church? - YES - you Can. A. If they have any man made Doctrine - they are not GOD's church. Doctrine - Rules they run their church by that are not in the Bible. The official definition of Doctrine - " A principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief, as by a religious, political, scientific, or philosophic group; dogma. " Man Made Doctrine - even if they base it on biblical principles - violates the instructions of not adding too! B. What do they call themselves? All of the scriptures refer to the church as the body of Christ (church means body) or the bride of Christ and they called themselves the church of GOD, the church of GOD in Christ, church of Christ - Romans 16:16 "Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings." No groom wants his bride to go by a name that is not his. C. Do they insist that the Bible - in it's entirety - is the truth and must be adhered to? D. How do they treat salvation? Do they teach the truth? Many religions will tell you that baptism is not required yet JESUS himself states in John 3:5 "" I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit." Acts 2:38 38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins." Everyone of you means everybody - ALL people.E. Can you or I know the truth all by ourselves? JESUS says we can and in fact HE also says what we are if we don't know the truth - John 8: 42-47 JESUS said , " "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."Anyone who accepts GOD completely as their FATHER - will know the truth when they hear it. If they don't accept it - BAR NONE - they are the child of satan. Don't look for PERFECTION in Man? It just doesn't exist. No One is perfect even the most righteous man on earth is not perfect. Only the Bible - GOD, JESUS, the Holy Spirit are perfect. - They live in the Bible. Their are many more things to speak of - but know this - only those whose entire belief, method of worship, method of treating others, obedience to GOD, and salvation is based on the BIBLE, and only the BIBLE, does GOD know or recognize.
